Lost my best buddy, best dog. Murphy died as I sat next to him in my room, talked to him and petted him when he left this world on his own to go back to his creator.
Murphy was thirteen and even up to the end, he showed his love for us, sick as he was, he always wagged his tail.
After Jeff died, I could have never asked for a better protector, better friend than Sgt Murphy, as I called him after The character from Richard Scary's children s book. During my deepest depression, he stayed by my side. Stayed close to wait for the kids after school, made daily walks around the park with Carianne and stunk Jon off the computer.
He rode with me everywhere the kids and I went.
When Daisy and Scooter came a year ago, they got a big buddy. Outside, they barked while Murphy surveyed the surroundings, inside all three of them were always together...oh he did teach them a few tricks..some good, some bad.
Murphy's only favorite stranger was "The Pizza Dude" usually a young kid he'd bark at before he helped the kids and I eat the pizza.
Many people complimented Murphy, the sheriff called him a good watch dog ,while others loved how he was marked. The others were just plain scared of him, even though he never hurt anyone.
He was several breeds, however German and Australian Shepherd and Black Labrador was the most prominent.
Today I lost a true and tried four legged friend who was the closest pet I had since my childhood buddy, Dutchess , a collie. I have had several over the years, each one gaining a special part of my most loved memories as those unforgettable furry angels. Murphy will have the biggest part though.
Jon, Carianne and I will love and miss him. Its been and will be a difficult day, as I have cried the most tears over a dog I have ever had. Murphy will always be special,
Thank You Murphy, thank you for seeing us through the tough times, being our protector and loving us. Thank you God for placing him in our lives
